Strong & Bold Coffee

Want a strong cup? These are organic coffees their own roasters call bold, strong or intense. Strength here means flavor and body as the roaster describes it, since caffeine content isn't published per bag.

How to choose

• Organic: Every coffee here is listed as certified organic by its roaster, and several are also Fair Trade.
• Taste: For bold dark roasts, try Thanksgiving's Old Town French (intense) or Mendocino Vienna, Kicking Horse Grizzly Claw or Artizan's Cuba Mia. For strong but smooth, Augusta's Breakfast Blend from Nossa Familia. Artizan rates its Stout and Guatemala Robusta capsules High Caffeine.
• Whole bean or ground: Most bags come whole bean or ground for drip, French press or espresso. Kicking Horse is whole bean only. The Artizan capsules fit Nespresso Original machines (not Vertuo).
• Bag size and value: Choose 10 oz or 12 oz bags to try a coffee, Tomorrow's 1 lb bags, Nossa's 2 lb bag, or 5 lb bags of Mendocino Vienna, Old Town French, Augusta's and Tomorrow's Nicaraguan for the lowest price per pound.

Every coffee here is fully caffeinated; we don't sell decaf.
