The Ranking Experiment

A public SEO field study.

CoffeeInc.com is a live experiment by EVKII, Inc. and iSEOup.com. The question: can a new domain earn topical authority in the saturated coffee category through honest content and measured iteration?

Last updated: 2026-07-18

Method

The method is deliberately unglamorous:

  1. Baseline. Record starting position, impressions, and clicks for a defined query set in Google Search Console before publishing.
  2. Publish. Ship substantive, cited, static/server-renderable content on a defined cadence — no auto-generated filler.
  3. Measure. Track query-level movement, indexation, and click-through weekly. Publish results here.
  4. Improve. Iterate on what moved. Retire what didn't. Document both.

Rankings are earned, never guaranteed. This page will show losses as clearly as wins.

Query categories

We're tracking initial movement across these clusters:

  • Fundamentals: what is coffee, arabica vs robusta, coffee roast levels.
  • Caffeine: how much caffeine in espresso, caffeine in cold brew, robusta caffeine content.
  • Brewing: coffee to water ratio, espresso ratio, pour over ratio.
  • Processing: washed vs natural coffee, honey process coffee, anaerobic coffee.
  • Origins: ethiopian yirgacheffe, uganda sipi falls coffee, jamaican blue mountain.

Why coffee?

Coffee is saturated, opinionated, and dominated by legacy brands and health-claim marketing. If honest content can earn ground here, it can earn ground anywhere. The two owned products — Roasted Punch and The Crema — are the monetization layer; topical authority is the actual product.
