Product details

Organic Sumatra from the Ketiara co-op in Aceh: an extremely rich, heavy body with remarkably mild acidity, a dark chocolate aroma with vanilla, oak and a hint of peat, and a classic wild, deep, earthy Sumatra finish. Sold in 2 lb and 5 lb bags.

This Sumatra comes from Bener Meriah in the Aceh region and is 100% Adsenia (also called Tim-Tim). It is wet-hulled, or Giling Basah: the beans are wet processed, the parchment is removed mechanically, and the naked beans finish drying on patios, raked and turned. Ithaca says this method is what gives Sumatra coffee its special character.
